In my last news post, I mentioned some of the things I’m doing on Instagram with regards to ‘how’ I’m posting, not necessarily ‘what’ I’m posting. The how is always going to be something a little different and I really am trying to stick to 3-post image groups... and finding new ways to do that.
I got a little sidetracked one day awhile ago... can’t even say how I came across it really, but there I was, watching YouTube videos posted by an amazingly talented Canadian photographer/cinematographer/creator by the name of Peter McKinnon. Seriously, if you haven’t heard of this guy, you really should look him up on Instagram but more importantly, on YouTube.
This brings me to what prompted the subject of today’s post - upping my game. Oh sure, I’ve watched plenty of videos and read numerous tutorials on everything from website design to Instagram posting to now, actually taking better photographs and videos. Peter’s tutorials and recommendations (including plugs for his equally talented friends and his favourite gear/apps, etc.) are top notch and presented in a very professional way. His vlogs are fun to watch also.
So over the last week or so, I’ve dusted off my Canon Rebel T2i camera and have been actually seriously experimenting with the settings, taking the plunge into taking a chance with photography. After all, that’s what Instagram is really about, isn’t it? Great photography. What I had been posting are mostly older photos, with auto settings... I’d like to catch up to the present a little more with a throwback here and there.
But wait, what about my music? No, I haven’t abandoned that, not at all. In fact, I’m using and reusing my music as much as I can in as many creative ways as I can muster up. And yes, one day, there will be new music. And this is where you will find it.
In the meantime, head over to Instagram and check out some of my new posts... Tuesday’s post will be a little different yet again, but I think you will like it:
